In 2002, Stephen Steakley started providing home loans in Austin, Texas and was later dubbed “Rookie of the Year” by his employer, Security Lending.
Since then, his commitment to clients and “never say die” determination has earned him national awards and recognition. First Continental Mortgage recognized him with the “Presidents Club Award for Volume” in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. (He reached “Presidents Club” status for 2009 in August.) He also received “Top Producer in the Nation for Volume and Units” in 2008. He has closed over 1,000 home loans and helped to make dreams come true for many happy Texas families.

Stephen is a born-and-raised Austin, Texas native and hails from a family of real estate professionals. His father, Dan Steakley, who has worked in the Austin real estate industry for over 30 years, is now a commercial real estate broker. In addition, his mother once built beautiful homes in the Westlake area. His brother, Will Steakley, is a successful agent and Vice President at urbanspace Realtors and his father-in-law, Bill Stringer, has been a successful Austin, Texas commercial real estate broker since 1973.
In addition to providing Austin, Texas home loans for clients, Stephen co-chairs the La Pasadita BBQ Team. This BBQ team exists solely for the purpose of raising money for The Star of Texas Scholarship Program, which has awarded more than $4.2 million in college scholarships since 1983. In 2008, La Pasadita celebrated crossing the half-a-million donated mark since its founding in 1991. The last few years have seen the team consistently raise over $50,000 each year. Stephen encourages friends, family and clients to join him in his efforts every year at the Rodeo Austin BBQ Cook-Off, which takes place one weekend every March.
When he’s not closing Austin, Texas home loans, you can find Stephen outside — boating on Lake Austin and Lake Travis, playing golf, hunting and fishing all over Texas, and camping with friends and family.
Stephen currently lives in north Austin with his beautiful wife, Alyson, and his pups, Disco and Tucker.
